PIANO TRIO WITH ORCHESTRA - Dominic Alldis

In 2009, Dominic Alldis composed a suite for jazz piano trio and string orchestra. A Childhood Suite, inspired by themes from traditional nursery rhymes as well as original material, was first performed at St. James's Piccadilly in April 2010, followed by a performance by the Amersham Festival Orchestra in February 2012.

The Dominic Alldis Trio and Canzona Chamber Orchestra recently recorded A Childhood Suite at the Menuhin Hall for the Canzona label: A Childhood Suite (CANZ CD7).

The Dominic Alldis Trio is keen to perform A Childhood Suite with other orchestras. If you are an orchestra and would like to discuss a possible collaboration, please do contact us. Please click here to view the conductor's score.

Other repertoire by Dominic Alldis for jazz piano trio and orchestra includes Themes from French Cinema, The Music of Michel Legrand and jazz arrangements of English folk songs.

As a conductor and former cellist, Dominic has a particular interest in crossover projects with jazz and classical musicians. He also teaches at the Royal Academy of Music, introducing pianists to improvisation in both classical and jazz styles.
