Dominic was born into a family of classical musicians; his mother is a violinist and his father the renowned choral conductor John Alldis. Consequently, he has maintained a keen interest in classical music, and continues to play the cello and classical piano, as well as conducting orchestras worldwide.
Since 1997, Dominic has cultivated a parallel career as a business speaker, exploring music as a metaphor for the world of business. In 2001, he founded Music & Management to launch a range of orchestral presentations for executives training programmes. As part of these programmes, he has conducted orchestras in London, New York, San Francisco, Miami, Mexico City, Paris, Barcelona, Budapest, Bangkok, Shanghai and Buenos Aires.
